The Chairman of the council area, Hon. Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has lauded the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, over intervention in the rehabilitation of road in Ikate community, Lagos State.
A team of Engineers from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President has embarked on an inspection tour of road projects in Itire-Ikate LCDA with a view to commence rehabilitation works.
The team led by Mr Muyideen Hamzat conducted a thorough inspection and assessment of the road in Cole Street in Ikate Community, Ogunsanmi Street in Itire, Adewuyi/Agboola and Ijesha Communities on Sunday.
The rehabilitation works, according to the Chairman of the council area, Apatira, is to enhance economic integration within the council area.
While addressing residents, Dr. Apatira emphasized that upon completion, the road projects will lessen the daily challenges being faced by residents and road users in the areas.
He said, “The endeavour is a significant stride towards bolstering infrastructure and fostering smoother mobility within the council jurisdiction.
“It is therefore important to warn against street traders in these areas to desist from such act if not for any reason but for the need to preserve and maintain a conducive environment.”
Residents however expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman and the Chief of Staff to the President for the proposed projects while anticipating the positive transformation that will unfold in their communities.
