The Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Ahmed Habu Sani in charged of Kogi governorship election has said that they have deployed enough security men that will manned each of the 3508 polling units and 239 wards in the 21 local government areas of the state.
He also warned individual or groups of people who may wish to cause mayhem in order to impede the integrity of the Saturday election to have a rethink or face the full wrath of the law.
DIG Sani gave the warning on Thursday at a press conference held at the headquarters of Kogi State Police Command in Lokoja.
He said the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies are well prepared in terms of manpower and logistics to ensure that the off-circle election in Kogi state is peacefully and successfully.
"We are ready for the conduct of peaceful and rancour free election but whoever do otherwise will certainly regret his or her actions, that is why I am warning trouble makers to either relocate from the state or stay at home through out the period the election will last because we are very ready to deal with any body who go against the law"
The Deputy Inspector General of Police however appealed to the people of the state to contribute their quota for the peaceful conduct of election and urged them to give useful information that would assist security agencies to perform their duties creditably.
