Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has asked members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), to stick with the political structure of Governor Yahaya Bello in the senatorial district.
He stated this while playing host to party stakeholders from the senatorial axis, adding that there was no basis to challenge the already established structure by the governor, especially in the zone.
“There is no need to form an alternative structure as Governor Yahaya Bello’s structure is a structure for all ardent believers in the governor’s ‘Let’s do more’ agenda.
“The governor personally and painstakingly searched for appointees to ensure that only the best hands are brought on board. He has put round pegs in round holes; for the speedy delivery of the ‘Let’s do more’ agenda.
“All the achievements recorded so far couldn’t have been possible but for the determination, zealousness and passion with which the governor handles the state and party affairs,” he said.
He also reiterated his total support and loyalty to the governor, saying “the governor is not only detribalised but also result-driven, a man in whose body the blood of Ebira, Igala and Okun (EBIGO) runs.

“I appealed to individuals and groups agitating for positions to thread softly, Governor Bello is a leader who can be trusted to ensure all genuine interests are adequately protected.”
The senator cited his case as a viable example, “I joined APC without an intended aspiration. After all local and state government structures have been formed, yet I was supported to fly the Kogi West Senatorial flag of the party. I, therefore, confidently and wholeheartedly support all the appointments so far made by His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello. I have no reason to form any other alternative structure as GYB structure is my structure and a sure structure for all who believes in the ‘Let’s do more’ agenda.”
Senator Adeyemi also reiterated the need for all aspirants in the forthcoming local government election to thread softly and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship, stating that he has no adopted or preferred candidates as he will align fully with whatever position the governor takes across Kogi West.
He appealed to all Kogites to continue to give unwavering support to the governor’s administration, “so that there can be speedy delivery of all the democratic dividends packaged in the new administration.”
