Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State following the devastating fire incident in Majia, which claimed over 100 lives and left more than 70 individuals with varying degrees of burns.
Governor Yusuf described the incident as a “heart-wrenching tragedy” that marks a significant loss not only for Jigawa State but for the entire country.
This was contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, in which the governor expressed his deepest sympathies to Governor Umar Namadi, as well as to the government and people of Jigawa State.

Governor Yusuf specifically offered condolences to the families of the deceased and the community of Majia, praying that Allah grants eternal peace to the souls of the departed and a speedy recovery to those injured. He also prayed that such a catastrophe never occurs again.
He stated that this gesture of commiseration demonstrates the solidarity and unity that exists among Nigerian states in times of crisis.
He emphasized that the people of Jigawa State are in mourning and that the government is working to provide support to those affected.
