THE Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Kaduna State branch, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Tudun-Biri Central Mosque construction in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
Residents of the area were thrown into mourning when a military drone killed over 100 residents in December 2023 during the celebration of Mawlid Naibiy, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, in the area.
The federal and state governments had pledged to provide social amenities to the area.
The Murshid of the JNI in the state, Imam Husaini Iliyasu, who spoke with newsmen last weekend after a visit to the construction site, said: “We are delighted to see the mosque nearing completion.”
He expressed gratitude to everyone, including the state government, who contributed to making the project a reality.
Imam Iliyasu, who is also the Chief Imam of Udawa Central Mosque, noted the progress of the project and expressed appreciation to the sponsors.
He urged the residents to use the new mosque, which is capable of accommodating a large number of worshippers for daily and Friday prayers, to foster peace and unity in the area.
The cleric assured the community that JNI leaders would be present at the inauguration of the mosque.
JNI also thanked the state government for the infrastructural development, including road construction and the establishment of a skills acquisition centre, in the area since the tragic incident.
