As a formidable Islamic religious organization, Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP) marks its 30th year of existence, the group on Wednesday disclosed that it has concluded plans to celebrate the event with, patients in hospitals, people in orphanage homes and correctional centres across the country.
The group further hinted that 51 prominent comparative scholars and preachers across the globe will be honoured with outstanding prestigious awards of excellence during the programme, for their contributions to humanities, adding value to societies and upholding of doctrinal principles of Islamic tenets.
Founder and President of ACADIP, Mallam Yusuf Adepoju made these known at a press conference held at the NUJ Press center, Osogbo to reel out activities for the programme.
He argued that, the group apart from, Islamic propagation, believes in humanitarian gestures and pledged to always associate with the needy ones and render assistance where needed.
The president of the group who explained that the group came into being when discovered that, many Muslims were leaving the Islamic religion for other religions affirmed that,15,000 reverts and returnees have embraced Islam globally.
The ACADIP boss stressed that the Islamic group has made a significant impact in consolidating Islamic beliefs.
According to him, “The Academy of Islamic Propagation ACADIP has grown in the past 30 years in leaps and bounds. It has thus made a significant impact on consolidating Muslims’ belief in Islam and led to a better understanding of other faiths.
“Notably, the group has recorded no fewer than 15,000 reverts and returnees to Islam globally and still counting. It is therefore not an understatement to conclude that ACADIP has steadily transformed, I’m Into a beacon of hope for millions of hopeless individuals and provided a safe haven or, better still, a sanctuary for numerous truth-seekers across the globe.”
In his contributions, the Vice President of Administration of ACADIP, Barrister US Imam, expressed concerns over the spate of abuse of social media platform usage and called on the concerned authorities to find a way of regulating the activities of the users.
He frowned at the way the platforms are being misused and abused and, using the avenue to run down personalities down and at the same time, assassinate and defame their characters without minding ethical and legal boundaries.
“It is unfortunate that we are using social media unrestrictedly, There is no regulation for social media and that is why, it is being abused. By the time you listen and watch their videos, we then understand this one has crossed the line, this one has fallen into defamation.
“And let me tell you that both Mallam and ACADIP as a body are being attacked as well but, we have a way to protect ourselves and that is why it is not so much.
“We know the way to the court if you misbehave. We will take you to the court for, we don’t go into fracas with anybody. ACADIP will not hesitate to take anyone who wants to assassinate its character to court,” he stressed.
