Ishaku fumes at spars crowd at jolly Nyame stadium in Jalingo

THE spares crowd witness at Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo in Taraba State capital on Thursday gave the governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party PDP and the Governor of Taraba State Darius Ishaku a sad moment as the governor brought in his PDP governorship flag from Abuja.

Governor Ishaku, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Taraba returned from Abuja where he was presented with the PDP gubernatorial flag by the national chairman of the PDP Prince Uche Secondus to hold a PDP mega rally in Jalingo, the rally includes all the governor’s supporters across the 16 local government areas in the state.

The state chairman of PDP in Taraba state Hon Victor Bala Kona while presenting his opening speech at the occasion said the spares crowd been a witness at Jolly Nyame Stadium was as a result of the delay of the plane that conveyed the governor from Abuja to Jalingo.

Bala said the held in Jalingo was to receive the governor who went to collect his flag and also to receive hundreds of defectors from All Progressive Congress to PDP. The PDP state chairman though assured the governor of victory at the general polls despite the poor turn up of supporters at the venue of the rally.

Responding to the poor turn up of the people of the state at the event, the governor of Taraba State and the governorship candidate of PDP in Taraba state governor Darius Ishaku said despite the delay of the plane that conveyed him from Abuja to Jalingo, the supporters would have waited to receive him before departing to their various places.

Ishaku who spoke in the Hausa language also lamented that there are some Political parties that have planned to use violence to distract elections in the state.

“The fact that our plane delayed from Abuja, these people should have waited to see me, receive me before leaving, furthermore, we have information at our disposal that some politicians are planning to course upheaval in the state to stop elections so that subsequently it will be announced in their favour.

“We as a government and a party, we shall continue to remain the focus, I believe PDP is the only party to win elections not only in the state but in Nigeria at large because we are the only nationalistic Political party in Nigeria.

A political analyst in the state who spoke to Tribune Online over the event attributed the spares crown that welcomes Governor Ishaku on Thursday to the emergence of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC and the former acting governor of Taraba state Sen. Sani Abubakar Danladi.

Most analysts said the emergence of Danladi as the APC governorship may hamper chances of Ishaku’s second since Danladi has been the deputy governor in the state, once acting governor and at a point a Senator, his political weight was a threat to the governor.
