A group of concerned citizens for peace, security and stability in Zamfara have mobilized Ulamas, organised a special prayer under the umbrella of Dauda Lawal coalition organisation in the state.
The special prayer which was organized for the second time in the state, was held on Thursday at the Gusau Central prayer ground, witnessed by some Ulamas, State government officials, and students of both primary and secondary schools in the State.
The special prayer was organized to seek God’s intervention to the insecurity bedeviling the state.
Speaking at the prayer session, the chairman of the Organising committee Professor Nasir Anka who was represented by the committee secretary Alhaji Nasiru Garba said that some Ulamas, scholars and thousands of students were in attendance to seek Allah’s Guidance on banditry activities across the state.
Nasiru Garba stressed that security issue is a collective responsibility there is need for citizens to embark on prayer at all time, “insecurity is a source of our concern, we pray for the return of our lost peace in the state
The secretary Alhaji Nasiru Garba emphasized that people in the state need to continue praying for peace across the 14 local government areas of the state.
Earlier on, the state commissioner of information Mannir Haidara and Gusau local government sole administrator Engineer Yahaya Garba lauded the committee for organizing such an important prayer for peace to reign in the state.
The Gusau local government’s sole administrator assured the committee of his total support at any given time when they intend to organize such prayer in the state.
During the prayer, many scholars and Ulamas offered special prayers to bring an end to banditry, kidnapping, and other crime and criminal activities in the State.
