Following incessant road accidents being recorded in parts of Ogbomoso town, the Ogbomoso Recreation Club has called on motorists to always tread with caution while on the road.
The club further stated that drivers should pay adequate attention to their vehicles by getting them checked from time to time to fix whatever needs to be fixed in order to ensure their safety and that of other road users.
ORC made the call in a statement signed by its President, Dr Akin Oladeji-Johnbrown, and made available to journalists on Sunday while reacting to an accident involving a tanker that occurred on Saturday at the Takie roundabout in which an apprentice was seriously injured.
The incessant accident at Takie Junction has always been a disruption to the life and economic well-being of the town.
Ogbomoso Recreation Club also called on federal and state government agencies saddled with the responsibility of ensuring safety on the roads to rev up action on enforcing compliance with safety standards by motorists, adding that this will go a long way in averting accidents on the roads.
Furthermore, Dr Oladeji called on the federal government to speed up the completion of the Oyo Ogbomoso segment of the express roads, which has been under construction for more than 20 years without a completion date in sight.
He argued that it was high time the road was completed for the benefit of all.
