Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Imo State Command, have arrested 30 suspects in Imo for various criminal activities around the state, including armed robbery, carjacking, cultism, and illegal firearms possession.

In a statement by the police command’s spokesman, Henry Okoye, on Tuesday, he disclosed that the suspects were arrested through different teams who carried out the operations.

According to him, the operations were carried out by the Quick Intervention Team (QIT) and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

“On November 7, 2025, Quick Intervention Team (QIT) operatives recovered a snatched Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 and arrested a suspect, Adamu Sani, who confessed to the crime and named his accomplices.

“On November 8, 2025, QIT operatives recovered a stolen black Toyota Hilux and a snatched Toyota Venza, abandoned by thieves.

“In a separate operation, he said Rapid Response Squad (RRS) operatives intercepted two suspects, Uchechukwu Ahamefule and Miracle Eberechi, found with a locally fabricated double-barrel gun and live cartridges. They confessed to being members of the Vikings/Bagar confraternity cult group,” Okoye stated.

Okoye further disclosed that quite a number of arms and ammunition, three snatched vehicles, and two motorcycles were recovered during the operations.

“The case is under investigation, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of their syndicate,” Okoye said.

He added by urging residents to remain law-abiding citizens and help in the collaborative task of keeping the state safe by providing necessary information.
