AFRO-pop female singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade has blatantly rejected her comparison with leading female American superstar singer, Beyonce, warning that while she really loves the singer, she would not want anybody to compare her with Beyonce.
Alade, one of Nigeria’s music most celebrated female music stars has been in the news for the past two weeks following the release of her new video, Oh My Gosh, which featured American rapper, Rick Ross.
The video, which was shot in the US has swelled Alade’s profile and ranked her as one of the biggest in Africa, having stayed in the limelight for almost a decade. But while Alade is happy that her music career is progressing, she would not want anyone to take her shine.

Yesterday, singer and songwriter, Seyi Shay took to her Instagram page to praise Alade for the big moves she has been making, describing her as the African Beyonce.
The Mama Africa, as Alade loves to be called would not welcome the comparison as she was quick to call Seyi Shay, a Pepsi ambassador to order, saying she would not want to be addressed or seen as African Beyonce as there can never be another Beyonce.
The Jolly singer insisted that while she is inspired by Beyonce, she would love to be herself as there could only be one Yemi Alade and one Beyonce. “My queen, I love her and I am inspired by her. But I don’t ever want to be the version of her. There can never be another Beyonce and there can never be another me,” she said.
It will be recalled that there has been a quiet supremacy battle between Alade and Tiwa Savage over who is the biggest in Nigeria and beyond. Fans of the two superstars have disagreed on who is the biggest artistes but neither Alade nor Savage has come out to speak on their silent rivalry.
It is believed that they are both not best of friends but they have chosen to focus on their music career while they leave their fans to do the talk.
