Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has reiterated his desire to make Birnin-Kebbi the capital of Kebbi State more beautiful than any other emerging State capitals in the North, just as he directed the State Ministry of Works to seriously supervise all ongoing construction of the State capital roads.

Comrade Idris gave the directive as he toured the township roads and the Central motor park undergoing reconstruction and rehabilitations Tuesday shortly after his arrival from Abuja.

“My desire is to construct befitting and standard roads that will stand the test of time so that Birnin Kebbi will be given a befitting outlook.”

According to a press statement made signed and made available to newsmen by his Chief press secretary, Ahmed Idris Baba, the governor commended the contractors and the ministry for a job well done most especially the ongoing central motor park modernisation.

“I am highly impressed with the level of work so far, In Sha Allah, I will make sure that I empower indigenous contractors,” he added.

Responding, the Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon (Engr.) Abdullahi Farku Umar assured the governor that all observations he made were noted and promised to take urgent and necessary measures to ensure that all ongoing works were strictly done according to specification.

“I thank you sir for the observation and In Sha Allah your observations are noted, and urgent, and necessary measures will be taken to address them,” he assured.
