A man, Ismaila Raheem, has filed for the custody of his child at Area Court, Centre-Igboro Ilorin, Kwara State, after the prayer for the dissolution of their marriage which was brought before the court by his wife, Khadija Muhammed, was granted.
The petitioner, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), had filed for divorce on the accounts of negligence and lack of love from the defendant.
The defendant agreed to the divorce and requested for the custody of their child.
The presiding judge, Shehu Ajimobi, granted the petitioner’s prayer and dissolved their marriage.
The petitioner told the court that the defendant was not the biological father of their child and therefore, did not have any right on the child.
The defendant thereby raised counter claim on the paternity of the child, despite the fact that it was not part of the application filed by the petitioner.
The judge adjourned the case.
