I demand justice over my husband’s death ― Wife of murdered man cries

Wife of a 37-year-old businessman, Rabiu Hassan, manager of a car wash outlet in Bauchi who was stabbed to death in Bauchi by a suspected armed robber, 33 years old Mohammed Bako, believed to be a student of one of the higher institutions in Bauchi is demanding for justice over the killing of her husband, according to her, the killer has taken away her joy.
The first wife of the deceased, Umma, who spoke to newsmen amidst tears said that the life of her husband cannot be wasted without the suspect paying for his sins , demanding that: “Since he has killed someone, it is best that he is also killed. In fact, if I meet him face to face, I can kill him because he has killed my husband. He has brought me pain, so I wish he also suffers pain.”
Umma who is  28 years old, said that her husband left the house at about 11.30pm on the fateful Monday and told her he was going to watch the people who were holding a rally to celebrate the victory of the Bauchi State Governor-elect, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir before the unfortunate incident happened.
She explained that when he went out of the room, “I wanted to lock the room but he told me not to lock the door. After he failed to return, I became worried and I heard people talking. When I asked what the noise was all about, I was told that my husband was killed. I felt terrible. A lot of people who knew my husband felt the pain as well. I have been married to him for eight years”.

The bereaved mother of four, said she had no idea what was the motive for killing her husband, “But I was told that people raised alarm shouting,  thief! thief! And my husband and others ran after the man they were calling a thief. The man was carrying a knife and when my husband succeeded in disarming him he did not know that the man had another knife in his pocket which he used to stab my husband. That was the story I heard”.

Umma described her late husband as a peaceful man saying, “I cannot get a replacement for my husband because we lived in peace all these years because he was a loving husband and father. His death has brought sorrow and created a vacuum in our lives. Want can console us is if justice is done by bringing my husband’s killer to book. Just as what he has done should be done to him as it is written”.
Meanwhile, the Bauchi State Police Command said they have arrested the suspected killer, a 33-year-old man identified as Mohammed Bako, a resident of Yelwan Makaranta.
The Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Kamal Datti Abubakar disclosed that the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Yelwa Divisional Police Headquarters early hours of Tuesday.
Kamal Abubakar stated that the suspect who allegedly stabbed Rabiu Hassan and another man identified as Sadiq Adamu, 26, a National Diploma II Office Technology student of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi explained that the suspect had attempted to steal a motorcycle but the people of the area raised an alarm and he took to his heels.
The Police Spokesman, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) disclosed that the two victims were rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital ATBUTH, Bauchi for treatment saying,  “Unfortunately Rabiu Hassan died receiving treatment while Sadiq Adamu survived and is in hospital receiving treatment at the same hospital”.
The PPRO said that the case is under investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court.
