How university degree cost me 10 years, 4 institutions – Mr Macaroni

For popular skit maker and comedian, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, getting a university degree at all costs was his main focus and biggest challenge in life so far.

The comedian who has become known for his rib-cracking skits and raunchy visuals on social media is widely regarded to be one of the fastest rising comedy stars in the country.

With the entertainment and laughter that attend his short clips on the web, it would not have been possible to imagine that the comic star was battling an uphill task to acquire a bachelor’s degree.

Macaroni, on Thursday, took to his Twitter page to reveal the agony he passed through before he could graduate school, with many having labelled him as ‘possessed’ in the process.

“I finished secondary school 2009. I went to four different universities between then and 2019. Most people thought I was possessed.

“I didn’t care how long it was going to take, but I told myself I was definitely going to get a university degree. Long last, I got it,” he disclosed.

The day Macaroni made his achievement public was also the day he finished the mandatory one-year youth service scheme for all Nigerian graduates.
