House to House campaign: Osinbajo solicits votes for APC in Ondo

Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday, solicited for the support of the people of Ondo state, urging them to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari, in the next month election.

Osinbajo who stated this during a visit to Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of the state said the people should consider the truthfulness of President Bihari in governing the nation to vote for his return to power in the next election.

The Vice President who was in the state for a House to House campaign in Ondo North Senatorial District described corruption as a major hindrance to the development of the nation but stated that President  Buhari was able to tackle the menace which has eaten deep into the country’s system.

He said President Bihari has shown his commitment towards rebuilding the country and turning Nigeria to the most economically viable nation in Africa.

He said “Buhari is a truthful man and will do something if he says so. He built three of our refineries in 4 years. Anyone that is truthful can be in government.

” The development of Nigeria is a major concern to us. We all know what happened when we first got here. No country can develop when corruption is too much.

“This forthcoming election is particularly important to us because it’s not all the time we have a representative in government, but when we have one, we should support them to have more development.

” Our school feeding programme feeds 9.2 million children daily. Things like this have been budgeted but not started physically. Whatever we have promised, we will do one by one. The railway, roads, and water and power promised in Southwest will be done,” he said.

Speaking, governor Rotimi Akeredolu, of Ondo state, commended the present APC government in the country for repositioning the economy of the nation as promised in their electioneering campaign of 2015.

Akeredolu said “as you are here today, and the people have seen you with us, it has a great impact and it’s more than any rally we could have organised.

“We are the same family and we see ourselves as one. Happy we started in Ifon. A lot of things started in Ifon. It is part of three key areas of Ondo State,” he said.

Akeredolu expressed optimism that the forthcoming elections would be won by APC while he tasked the people to vote massively for APC during the elections.

Earlier, Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, appreciated the commitment of the Federal Government towards the development of humanity, saying the country has witnessed unprecedented development in the last few years.

The monarch said “In Ifon, most roads are now with Asphalt while road rehabilitation is ongoing in so many areas like the ongoing dual carriageway project in Emure-Ile.

“This is your first visit to Ifon, but we already know you because you have tried in bringing the Yoruba race together with many development projects which have united us. May you overcome and win the forthcoming general elections,”
