Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed one Fwangshak Plang identified as a brother to the Special Adviser to the Governor of Plateau State, Mr Diket Plank and equally abducted his stepmother and a young lady in the Pankshin local government area of the state over the weekend.
A source close to the family of the deceased disclosed that the gunmen who were eight in number stormed the residence of Fwangshak Plang at Takas village in the early hour of Saturday and kidnapped the governor’s aide’s stepmother and a young lady living with her.
The Source further disclosed that the late Plank who lived in the same apartment with the aged woman suddenly noticed some strange movements within the premises and came out to find out what was happening but was shot at a close range by the kidnappers who were about to escape with their captors.
His words: “The kidnappers forced themselves into the premises and abducted the aged women and a young lady who were in their sleep and shot a young man identified as a brother to the governor’s while trying to escape from their captives.
“The late Plang did not die on the spot, he was taken to the nearby health centre for treatment where he later died on Saturday morning. As I am talking to you we don’t know whereabout of those kidnapped”
Tribune Online further learnt that the kidnappers are yet to contact the family as at the time of filing this report while the governor’s aide who is contesting for Plateau Central Senatorial primary on the platform of All Progressive Congress has suspended his ongoing consultation as a result of the incident.
Efforts to reach the Special Adviser to the Plateau State Governor on Public Affairs. Mr Diket Plank proved abortive as he could not be reached on his phone while the State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogaba was switched off.
