SUSPECTED gunmen has killed a 27 year old Christopher Joseph Audu of Goni Gora village of Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.
Findings gathered that his decomposed body was found at Angwan Tanko in Buwaya village along Abuja-Kaduna Express way with his legs and hands tied and mouth gagged.
According to his father, Mr Joseph Audu, “my last conversation with Christopher was on March 25th this year in my house here in Gonin Gora. I did not have any sign that it was my last conversation with him. There was no quarrel between us as l only pointed out lapses and corrections which he understood”.
He said that his late son left the family house at Gonin Gora back to Buwaya. ”My son has his family accommodation in the family house here in Gonin Gora but he preferred to rent a room at Buwaya where he said was conducive for his studies.
He was seeking for admission preferably into Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. After our last meeting l did not hear from him or see him again. Although it was his usual practice of visiting us at his own time since he was into commercial motor cycle operation.”
He said, “His phone number was not going; l attributed it to network or battery failure. But as days passed and Easter was fast approaching, our apprehension grew more and more. We got worried so much that we started asking questions and sending messages over his disappearance from the family house at Gonin Gora and his rented apartment at Buwaya.
‘We combed hospitals and police stations but sadly an informant came to inform us that a corpse of a young man was picked by the police.
‘We were then directed to Sabo Divisional Police Station. We were shown the picture where his legs and hands were tied and mouth gagged. I identified the corpse at the Gwamna Awan hospital mortuary, Nasarawa, on the outskirts of Kaduna metropolis. At this point, the police gave approval to release it for burial.”
“My son was friendly especially with his members in the charismatics group of mostly youth. His motor cycle which the killers took away is not even a new one. What really, bothered me was leaving the family house where he has his own apartment, to go and rent one room at a suburb in Buwaya which is not better than the family house. I do not know him with girlfriend. We will miss him greatly for his hard work and struggle to further his education and dedication to God and church activities.
Late Christopher was buried at Gonin Gora after Holy Mass at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents, brothers, sisters and other relations.
