Barely after the kidnap and death of the Head of Department of Music DELSU, Abraka, Professor Ovaborhene Idamoyibo, after payment of N3 million, gunmen have, again, kidnapped a final year student of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Mr Chris Oghojafor.
The Industrial Chemistry student was said to have been kidnapped, on Friday night of April 22, in the university community of Abraka, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Our correspondent gathered that it was learnt that the kidnappers called the mother of the victim to demand a 50 million naira ransom for his release.
The father of the student, who is a senior legislative aide to the deputy president of the Senate, Mr John Oghojafor Esq, confirmed the report at the Delta State University, campus 3 in Abraka.
The legal practitioner cum journalist said the family had haggled the N50 million ransom demanded to N3 million.

“They kidnapped my son on Friday night. They called my wife to demand N50 million. Later, they negotiated to three (N3millon) naira,” he noted.
Mr Oghojafor appealed to the kidnappers to release his son unhurt, saying he was just a student who is planning his life and future to be a better person in the society.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, said he was yet to be informed as of the time of filing the report.
It will be recalled that just last week, the kidnapped Head of Department of Music DELSU, Abraka, Professor Ovaborhene Idamoyibo, was found unconscious and subsequently died 24 hours after.
He was kidnapped on April 9, 2022, released midnight on Easter Sunday but dumped unconscious on a lonely bridge in Abraka after his family had redeemed N3 million to the kidnappers.
After his unconscious body was found by some passersby on the bridge, he was rushed to DELSU Teaching Hospital, Oghara, on Easter Monday, where his condition deteriorated and he later died.
