Gunmen abduct zonal APC chairman in Niger

Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have kidnapped a frontline chieftain of the Niger State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Malam Aminu Bobi, in Mariga Local Government Area of the state.

Aminu Bobi who is the Zone C (Niger North Senatorial District) chairman of the ruling party in the state was said to have been kidnapped on Saturday while working on his farm in the community.

A resident in the area confirmed to our reporter through an interview by telephone in Minna that the embattled APC zonal chairman went to the farm on Saturday but did not return home as he was feared to have been abducted by some gunmen suspected to be armed bandits.

However, when contacted for confirmation, the state Police Command’s  Public Relations Officer, DSP, Wasiu Abiodun didn’t pick his calls nor respond to SMS sent to him on the matter as of the time of filing this report on Sunday in Minna.
