A group, Friends of Seyi Tinubu Group (FOST) has commended the Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari, for his transformative leadership and groundbreaking contributions to Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
In a statement issued by the Presiden, FOST, Adejorin Tai Manuel, the group lauded Senator Kyari for his visionary approach to addressing the critical challenges facing the sector, which according to the group has positioned agriculture as a cornerstone of the nation’s economy.
Highlighting his achievements, FOST noted that, the nation has witnessed remarkable progress in mechanized farming, which has modernized agricultural practices and increased productivity during his administration as the minister of Agriculture.
The group in the statement added that Kyari’s commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and reduction of post-harvest losses through improved storage facilities and supply chain management has been pivotal in ensuring food security and enhancement of farmers’ profitability.
The group further praised the Minister for his policies, which account to the group have empowered smallholder farmers through access to affordable financing, capacity-building programs, and collaborative farming initiatives.
According to FOST, these efforts have significantly enhanced farmers’ productivity and improved their livelihoods.
Adding that Kyari’s push for the integration of innovation and technology in agriculture was also spotlighted as a key milestone. “His support for research and adoption of digital tools has positioned the agricultural sector to tackle challenges such as climate change and global food security demands”
While reacting to his retention in the recent cabinet reshuffle, FOST described the decision as a testament to Kyari’s leadership and performance.
The group expressed optimism that his continued leadership would sustain the progress made and further strengthen agriculture as a driver of economic growth and food security.
