NO fewer than 200,000 male condoms were distributed across Benue state to mark this year international condom day.
The event anchored by Aids Healthcare Foundation, AHF, embarked on one-week activities which also witnessed HIV testing and counselling across seven local government areas of the state.
The site coordinator, ART clinician and HIV Nigeria, Dr Shuaib Joseph who spoke at the grand finale held at Kenville park, High Level, Makurdi on Tuesday said that 100,000 male condoms were distributed within Makurdi.
He added that about 100,000 had been distributed in all the designated communities in seven local governments since the activities began.

Dr Joseph said that about 3,000 youths were targeted for HIV testing and counselling and assured of actualizing the target.
Speaking at the occasion, the executive secretary, Benue State Action Committee on AIDs BENSACA, Mr Gideon Dora charged people of the state to see condom as a fashion that must be carried along always.
Dora who was represented by Regina Ameh said the use of a condom could help to prevent unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease including HIV.
