The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Idris, has said that the administration of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, remains committed to gender inclusiveness in leadership, policy-making, and economic opportunities.
The Commissioner made this known on Saturday while celebrating the Kogi First Lady, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo, and all notable women across the state on the occasion of the 2025 International Women’s Day.
According to him, this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” serves as a powerful reminder of the need to intensify efforts towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.
His words: “Women remain the backbone of our society, playing crucial roles in governance, business, education, healthcare, and various sectors that contribute to the growth and development of our state and nation.
“The government recognises the invaluable contributions of women and assures continued support for policies that promote equal opportunities, financial empowerment, and social security for all women.”
Hon. Idris commended the resilience, strength, and dedication of women in shaping a prosperous and progressive society.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to implement financial and economic policies that uplift women, ensuring they have access to resources, funding, and opportunities for business and professional growth.
“As we celebrate today, let us collectively reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive society where women are empowered to thrive and contribute to nation-building without barriers.”
