Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has described the proposed concept of digitalising all government activities and workplaces for governance, improved security and enhanced digital framework as a welcome development.

The Governor stated this when he was presented with a proposal for an electronic document management system by the Central Securities Clearing Systems /(CSCS) at the Niger State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja, saying, that the presentation of the proposal of the electronic document by the CSCS is a welcome idea saying, the value addition of electronic document management system is developmental.

Governor Bago said the idea is coming at a time when his administration is trying to move away from a manual filing system to an electronic and swift system to promote ease of doing business, and governance, for transparency and accountability.

The Governor then sets up a sub-committee to be headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman to interact with the Group and submit a report within two weeks to sign a contract with the Group.

The Executive Director, Central Securities Clearing System, Adeyinka Shonekan said the electronic document system proposal is in line with the development plans that Umaru Bago has for Niger State adding that the concept will ensure security, rapid growth, youth empowerment and economic development.
