A philanthropist and alumnus of Gbongan Ode Omu Anglican Grammar School, Mr. Suuti Kolawole Abefe, famously called Kola Customs, has fully paid the West African. Examinations Council (WAEC) fees of 26 students in the school, amounting to N1,011,050.
The gesture was carried out on the school premises on Monday in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.
At a special event held at the school to mark the occasion, Mr. Kolawole explained that his decision was driven by a desire to support parents struggling with financial difficulties and
to inspire the students to take their education seriously.
The Balogun of Gbonganland, High Chief Quoozem Onikepe, who was present at the event, lauded Mr. Kolawole’s generosity, recalling his humble beginnings.
He urged other sons and daughters of Gbongan to follow his example by supporting the underprivileged and complementing the government’s efforts in providing quality education for all.
Other dignitaries in attendance included High Chief Onifade (Osi Otun Olufi of Gbonganland), High Chief Oyetola (Odofin of Gbonganland), and High Chief Ayanwale (Osi Balogun of Gbonganland).
