Gamawa, Misau, Dahiru, win Bauchi PDP senatorial primaries

PDPCHAIRMAN of Senate Committee on INEC, Senator Suleiman Nazeef Gamawa, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District alongside his colleague, Senator Isa Hamma Misau, representing Bauchi Central have emerged senatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2019 general elections.

Also elected as the senatorial candidate of the PDP for Bauchi South senatorial district is Garba Dahiru, who defeated his closest rival in the race, Ladan Salihu, who was recently defeated by the APC candidate, Lawal Yahaya Gumau during the by-election conducted in the area recently.

While announcing the results in Bauchi, the Chairman of the senatorial election panel for Bauchi state, Barrister Wilson Iorshe stated that for the Bauchi south Senatorial seat, Garba Dahiru scored the highest number of votes which was 382 to defeat Ladan Salisu who scored a total of 372 votes.

The Chairman also said that the election was peaceful as all the delegates and other party members convicted themselves well pointing out however that the exercise recorded only 20 invalid votes.

Barrister Wilson Iorshe then announced that Senators Nazeef Gamawa and Hamma Misau contested and won the elections unopposed for Bauchi North and Bauchi Central senatorial districts respectively, therefore, leading to the voice affirmation of their nominations as the candidates of the PDP in the 2019 general elections.
