FULL LIST: Nigeria missing in top 10 African countries with highest GDP per capita in 2024

Despite having the largest economy and population in Africa, Nigeria failed to make it to the top 10 African countries with the highest GDP per capita in the latest rankings released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Higher living standards are a direct result of higher GDP per capita in African nations. Governments may improve access to basic amenities and promote general well-being by investing in infrastructure, healthcare, and education when they have more financial resources.

More spare cash enables people to pay for better housing, healthcare, and education, which promotes social mobility and better health outcomes.
