The affected traders were recalled from home to face the herculean task of putting off the fire.

Our correspondent learnt that the magnitude would have been much of not for the swift intervention of the men of the State Fire Department.

One of the residents in the area said a call was put through to the men of the State Fire Service at Secretariat Agodi.

According to him, “They mobilised their men to the scene of the incident and were able to put off the fire even though the damage had been done.”
