Dr Ahmed Danfulani, the Director, FCT Health Insurance Scheme (FHIS), has commended the FCT residents over their positive responses to the scheme.
Danfulani gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.
He, however, said that the little challenge confronting the scheme was in the area of information dissemination about scheme to the people in the rural communities of the FCT.
According to him, the agency is careful in giving information about what it does in order to avoid disappointment.
“If you stimulate people to come to you and you are not ready on some issues, that will be a disappointment; we are working on our ICT platform.

“We are also working on some of our offices and some of our document. Once we are through with all these, we will now begin to discuss our programmes with everybody in the communities,” he said.
Danfulani said that the agency had registered more than 7,000 area council staff, more than 500 retirees and many other individuals for the scheme.
“I will not call what the healthcare providers are calling a challenge to be a challenge; some of them need to check their attitude toward the enrollees,” he said.
He said that before the agency could adopt any healthcare provider to participate in the scheme, a thorough check would have been done on such healthcare provider.
Danfulani said that payment had also been made to all the healthcare providers participating in the scheme which could have been a challenge, but the agency was able to manage the system. (NAN)
