As the June 17 day of the Femi Solar Experience Concert (FSEC) nears, heavyweights in the entertainment and shakers of the social scene are gearing up to make the day memorable.
All roads will lead to Ibadan as Femi Solar, a popular juju exponent, is ready to flip the script by throwing up a concert that will see gospel artistes, juju artistes and hip hop artistes performing on the same stage in a concert for the first time.
Information gathered by R during the week, revealed that organisers of the maiden concert, FS7 music are working round the clock to stage one of the biggest music concerts in Ibadan and beyond with top brands already jostling to be part of the event.
The two-day concert, according to the head of the organising committee, Mr Babatunde Olapade (Babs) will kick off on June 16 with a public lecture at the University of Ibadan as the organisers in the morning, while album listening party and launching will hold in the evening at Maurve 21, Ibadan.
On June 17, the major concert will hold at the Jogor Centre, Ibadan with heavyweights in the Fuji, gospel and juju genres billed to perform.
According to Babs, FSEC is one concert that will change the face of music concerts in Ibadan. “The number of hip hop and gospel artistes that will perform on the stage is mind-blowing. We have always been thinking of a show that will throw up all these stars and we are excited that a juju artiste like Femi Solar has taken the initiative to consult us to handle the job,” he stressed.
