A farmers’ group, Eden Group has announced the launch of e-Moringa organic fertiliser, an initiative aimed at providing support to Nigerian farmers amid growing concerns of food insufficiency and agricultural challenges.
The Chairman of Eden Group, Dr Michael Ashimashiga, highlighted the plight of Nigerian farmers who have suffered from the lack of agricultural support and resources, exacerbated by corrupt leadership and mismanagement.
To address these issues, he said that Eden Group has developed a 100% organic fertiliser using Moringa oleifera extract, designed to rejuvenate soil nutrients depleted by synthetic fertilisers and improve the health of agricultural produce.
According to him the e-Moringa organic fertiliser is set to be distributed directly to farmers across Nigeria’s 774 local governments through a simple three-step process: downloading an Agricultural Revolution form from the company’s website, making a 50% deposit, and providing a guarantor’s check.
Ashimashiga stated that the initiative aims to make organic fertilizer accessible to farmers at an affordable price.
He assured that the organic fertiliser not only supports crop growth but also contributes to the country’s health and agricultural sustainability.
He stressed the urgency of providing this support to alleviate the current food crisis and the company’s commitment to continuing production and distribution despite logistical challenges.
An agronomist with Eden Group, Dr. Shuaiba Adamu, underscored the scientific rigor behind the development of e-Moringa organic fertiliser.
Adamu said that collaborations with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) are underway to ensure the fertiliser meets international standards, paving the way for potential exports.
