Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Professor Uwakwe said any parent or guardian who engages in such services is not leaving life worthy of emulation, warning them to desist and stop sending the wrong signal to the generation yet unborn.
He said the council has zero tolerance for examination malpractices, hence, the reason why it always sent its staff to various centres to monitor the exercises and ensure strict compliance by the students.
According to him, for us as an exam body, quality is important and assessment, we maintain standard. We don’t make a compromise and we have zero tolerance for exam malpractice. We make sure our quality assurance is consistent, everything we do is the same.
“We work with feedback from my staff and colleagues to be able to have a quality assessment all through Nigeria.
“We subscribe to the nature of excellence, in other words, I am talking about exemplary methods, that each staff on the field is a register representing the registrar himself in each of the locations. We usually have briefings before going on the field in all major projects we carry out to know what is happening there hoping that things get better.
“In conducting exams, we make sure our staff are present in all centres to carry out this be it Yobe, Adamawa, Osun, we make sure they are comfortable in terms of resources in carrying out their responsibilities.
“We will have to do the logistics which is very intensive and expensive. For instance, we do designation of exams, we make sure we remit appropriately because it is a physical responsibility and we are not sparing anyone with the issue at hand. All my staff must return with reports because we all have been challenged.” He added.
