The senator who represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Eighth and Ninth Assemblies and former deputy governor of Ekiti State, Chief Biodun Olujimi, has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his victory and re-election for a second term as governor of Ekiti State.

The former Senate Minority Leader, in a statement made available to newsmen, urged Governor Oyebanji to continue delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the State.

Olujimi said, “The mandate renewed by the good people of Ekiti across the 16 local government areas is a resounding affirmation of their trust in your leadership, vision, and commitment to sustainable development.

“To win a second term in a competitive democratic contest is both an honour and a call to higher service. Apart from the fact that you have become a jinx-breaker by emerging as the first governor in the state to get a second term back-to-back, your victory signals that the people believe in the direction your administration has set and are prepared to walk further with you on that journey.

“This re-election is a mandate for continuity and consolidation. Your first term laid an important foundation in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth and women’s empowerment. On your re-election, Ekiti people have once again charged you to build on those gains, and I urge you to consolidate on the ongoing projects and expand access to opportunities for every Ekiti son and daughter.

“I commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, civil society organisations, the media, and all Ekiti voters for conducting themselves peacefully. Democracy thrives when citizens vote freely, and institutions act with integrity. While political contest is the lifeblood of democracy, governance demands unity, and I urge you, Your Excellency, to continue with your all-inclusive administration.

“To the party faithful and our supporters across the state, we thank you all for your dedication. Our commitment to accountable governance and the welfare of our people remains unshaken. We shall continue to engage constructively to ensure that the Ekiti project succeeds. Once again, congratulations, Your Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji. May God grant you wisdom, strength, and good health as you pilot the affairs of the state. With Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Ekiti is poised for greater heights.”
