Former Catholic priest and founder of Grace Family Church (GFC), Mr. Patrick Henry Edet, has admonished Presidential candidates: Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as contestants tin the general election against overheating the polity.
Speaking in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, the cleric noted the dangerous dimension of the ongoing campaigns and charged the politicians to consider the implications of their actions.
He prayed for God’s intervention for peace before, during and after the elections, saying it was time all Nigerians to imbibed the highest sense of so that honest and dedication can.
“Nigeria needs peace and development,” he noted and charged political actors and well-meaning Nigerians to guard and guide the process effectively to emerge as political leaders in various positions under pressure to be redeployed from the state, has said he would continue to resist being moved out of Akwa Ibom, assuring that “no man born of a woman can transfer me out of this state”.
