Nigerian international entrepreneur and business missionary, Melody Fidel, has described entrepreneurship as a lifestyle rather than just a job, advising youths to embrace and have passion for their chosen line of business.
Melody, an international award-winning youth changemaker, shared this advice during one of the weekly social media youth engagements hosted by the Business and Entrepreneurship Platform, which attracts over 5,000 followers from around the world, particularly Africa.
According to Melody, who is also the founder of the Stability and Sustenance Business Summit (SSBS), having a passion for entrepreneurship provides an opportunity to offer essential services and solve critical challenges in society while creating employment opportunities. This, he says, leads to visible happiness beyond mere profit-making.
“Entrepreneurship creates unspeakable joy and fulfillment. When you love and have passion for what you do, your heart is filled with happiness and contentment, knowing that you are contributing your own quota to the growth and development of your community and nation at large. So, passion and love for what you do are key.
“My fellow youths often make the mistake of seeing entrepreneurship as merely a job in which one must strive to make ends meet. This is why, when faced with challenges, they abandon it to try something else in search of a breakthrough. In sharp contrast, one must be dedicated, committed, and fully embrace their passion for a particular line of business to achieve success,” Fidel told Tribune Online.

The Business and Entrepreneurship Platform is one of the tools employed by the Stability and Sustenance Business Summit to regularly mentor and empower youth and potential entrepreneurs across Africa.
Over the past decade, the Stability and Sustenance Business Summit has coached over 10,000 youths, both physically and virtually, on skills acquisition and monetization, and has disbursed business grants to over 100 youths.
Fidel, who recently received the Africa Inspiring Impact Maker award in Kigali, Rwanda, in late 2023, was also recognized for his youth mentorship with The Future Awards Africa Prize for Service to Young People.
