As part of the preparation for Eid-el-Kabir, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has distributed rams to Central mosques across Kogi Central.
The main central mosques in each of the five local government areas of the senatorial district are identified as the beneficiaries of the largesse.
The Senator through her Chief Press Secretary, Arogbonlo Israel and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the lawmaker also felicitated with the Muslim faithful and urged them to use the occasion to promote love, tolerance and pray for sustained peace in the country.
“On this auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend warm greetings to all Muslims around the world.
“Eid-el-Kabir, a sacred holiday commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son, is a powerful reminder of the values of faith, obedience, and selflessness.
“As we celebrate this joyous day, we honour the unwavering dedication of Prophet Ibrahim and the unshakeable trust of his son, Prophet Ismail (Ishmael).
“On this blessed day, I join all Muslim faithful to rejoice in the spirit of unity, compassion, and gratitude. Let’s imbibe the principles of peace, love, and service to humanity.
“I wish everyone a joyous Eid-el-Kabir, filled with happiness, peace, and harmony. May this special day bring us closer to our faith, loved ones, and nation at large,” she said.
