Eid-el-Fitr: Don’t relent in your prayers for Nigeria, S’West PDP urges Muslims

The South West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of this year’s holy month of Ramadan, calling on them not to stop in their prayers for the country.

The PDP zonal publicity secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati, in a statement made available to Tribune Online, said this year’s Ramadan came at a time when the country is facing a series of challenges across major sectors.

He lamented that the All Progressives Congress-led federal government has plunged the nation into avoidable crisis including democratic and economic problems.

He said, “We celebrate with all Muslim faithfuls across the country and as we urged them not to relent in their prayers for our country Nigeria.

” This year’s Ramadan has come at a time Nigerians are at a state of confusion. At a time Nigerians are democratically and economically stranded, at a time Nigerians are faced with scarcity of their own currency and highest level of oppression and suppression of the Nigerian people in history.

“Citizens are helpless and hopeless and can only hope the prayers of the righteous would be answered for the liberation and restoration of our country.Once again, we congratulate you a happy celebrations.”
