Men of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Saturday apprehended some people suspected to be working for a politician with money.
According to a source, a man purported to be an agent of the APC candidate, Emmanuel Jime was caught with a large sum of money at a polling unit at North Bank, Makurdi.
When contacted on phone, the state head of the anti-graft agency, Johnson Babalola confirmed that a man was caught with a large sum of money.
“It is true we caught someone with a large sum of money, I was there myself.”

However in a Facebook post by the commission, it read, “While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and vehicles vandalised. Information gathered confirms that the money belongs to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state.”
But the APC governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime denied any link with the report.
“Am getting this information from you, am not aware of such incident, at the time I cast my vote media both local and foreign interviewed me in the presence of the people and thereafter I returned to my house.
“You can see that all my vehicles are available so I felt like coming home to relax after casting my vote,” Jime said.
