THE National Association of Edo State Students has appealed to Nigerians to support to the new National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to enable him to deliver on his promise to the party and the nation.
The spokesman of the association, Comrade Meisabi Tasiu who spoke in Benin yesterday said that the ex-labour leader represented the true capacity that can drive the party to achieve success in the forthcoming general election.
Tasiu noted that Oshiomhole who succeeded another former Edo State governor, Chief John Odigie Oyegun “as the man who the cap fits” to lead the ruling party to victory.
The unionist maintained that Oshiomhole past stewardship in the state has set a better template in the political corridor that had resulted in the emancipation of its citizenry.
He said: “When he served as the NLC president, he found and assumed a place in the hearts of Nigerian workers and students/youth. His stewardship thereafter opens the doors in Edo state that resulted in political emancipation.
“He is committed to national interest through his ideological focus and he is not afraid of vagaries of adventures or despite all he has achieved those not believe in blowing his own trumpet or raising dust about his achievements.”
According to Tasiu, Oshiomhole’s profound intellectual extensiveness and dedication to effective service delivery, will no doubt, enable him to provide veritable support for the President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision of socioeconomic and political transformation.
He added that the combination of the new APC national chairman with Buhari will be productive in the anti-corruption crusade, good governance, security and zoning structure.
