Economy will stabilise if… ― Buhari support group

President Muhammadu Buhari

THE Ekiti State chapter of the Buhari Solidarity Group (BSG) has assured Nigerians that the current economic situation in the country would further improve immediately President Muhammadu Buhari starts implementing the 2019 budget.

The group, in a statement on Sunday, signed by Sunday Awoyomi, its Patron in the state, urged the leadership of the National Assembly not to politicise the budget passage process so that the country can witness its much-desired growth.

The group specifically called on the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, and other National Assembly leaders to fast track action with the 2019 appropriation bill as presented to them by President Buhari, contending that “to do otherwise is tantamount to toying with the lives of Nigerians.”

The BSG Patron reiterated the argument that the current parlous state of the Nigerian economy was as a result of the reckless kleptomania and corruption visited on Nigeria during the unfortunate 16 years of misrule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

The Group says it prays for the country not to ever witness such period again in its history.

Sunday Awoyomi called on Nigerians to give their massive support and vote to President Muhammadu Buhari and VP Yemi Osinbajo in the forthcoming presidential election, so that “the job of repairing the damage done to our country can be fully completed.”

The BSG assured Nigerians that the economy would sustainably bounce back as soon as the National Assembly passed the appropriation bill before it in good time. The Group further affirmed that President Buhari had addressed critical areas of the economy like Education, workers welfare, unemployment, power generation and transportation in his budget proposal in order to consolidate on the progress so far made in the last 3 and a half years.

The Ekiti BSG called out the PDP and its Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to first restitute and ask for forgiveness from Nigerians for the crime of plunder that they committed against the nation. They claimed that Nigerians rejected the PDP in 2015 and they would do it again in 2019.
