THE General Overseer Christ Dominion Embassy known as (Mountain of Safety) Worldwide, Kaduna, Pastor Lazarus Terna,has declared 21 days fasting and prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice,Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s divine protection and good health to pilot the affairs of the nation.
Addressing a news conference in Kaduna at the weekend, Pastor Terna, said following the release of 2019 polls time table by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), the forthcoming elections needs serious prayers to avoid any threat like 2011 elections crisis.
While commending Buhari on the fight against corruption and insurgency in the North East region, Pastor Terna, prayed for an end to herdsmen and farmers clashes which many lives and properties has been destroyed.
Pastor Terna,however called on his follow clerics to avoid hate and inciting speeches adding that as servants of God they should be hope giver to the society.
According to him:” I commend President Muhammadu Buhari for relinquishing power to his Vice Professor Yemi Osinbajo as Acting President during his vacation.
‘We will keep on praying for President Muhammadu Buhari to fully recover and to be healthy for him to continue to lead the nation. We will fast 21days for Mr President and his Vice President and Nigeria in general. We will continue to pray for them to succeed”
Pastor Terna added:”I read that,INEC has released time table for 2019 elections. Just like we fasted in 2015,under the umbrella of Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). Christ Dominion Embassy(Mountain of Safety),we will declare fasting in 2018 especially for 2019 polls against any threat.
‘We pray for peaceful forthcoming elections because we don’t want what happened in 2011 elections to repeat in 2019. Nigerians must stand up and pray for the nation”
‘We foresee the toughest elections in 2019 coming and we will commence another fasting and prayers next year for that. To us as a church even though we are not politicians we are saying that politics should not be a do or die affairs but should be for service to the nation. We must consider merit and do away with zoning for us as a nation to move forward”
‘We must also put aside religion and ethnicity and embrace merit. As a church we will not sit down and fold our hands, we will enlighten Nigerians on the need to shun ethnicity and religion to support merit without minding where the person comes from”
‘We must set the Nigeria dream today for our tomorrow. This present government has tried in the areas of fighting corruption, insecurity and has put some sanity in the system” he said.
