Bauchi State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) has conducted a ‘Train the Trainers’ workshop for the project officers and the focal Non-Governmental Organisations (FoNGOs).
The training which was held over the weekend, was to have a smooth implementation of the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) and training of the CRF stakeholders in the state.
While declaring the workshop open, the ACReSAL State Project Coordinator, Dr Ibrahim Kabir, disclosed that training was organised to provide in-depth knowledge of the CRF to the SPMU officers and the FoNGOs for the smooth implementation of the initiative in Bauchi state,
The SPC also informed the participants that, Bauchi was among the piloting states to benefit from the initiative, which is part of component B of the project, Community Strengthening.
He urged them to be attentive to clearly understand the concept, charging them to exhibit a sense of commitment, professionalism and community engagement techniques during the training at different communities in the state.

The resource person, who doubled as the Director General of the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA), Dr Mahmud Bose, highlighted some of the recorded achievements of the CRF project so far in the Pilot communities.
The workshop focused more on the roles and responsibilities of all the stakeholders which included the Benefiting community interest groups(CIGs) Community Business Agents (CBAs) CRF Management Committee (CRFMC) as well as the formation of the Board of Trustees and the (BOT) among the others.
Another aspect of the training was the composition of Grievance Redress and BOT selection criteria which are important requirements for disbursement to the successful ACReSAL CIGs for the piloting.
Senior Special Assistant to Bauchi State Governor on the ACReSAL Project, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Barde, who also attended the training, commended the SPC for organising the workshop.
He expressed his joy in the teamwork exhibited at Bauchi SPMU, assuring his continued support to ensure the smooth implementation of the project in the state while calling on the participants to do the job with all expertise for a better result.
The Executive Director of Savannah Institute for Sustainable Development (SISDEV), Mrs Titi Yakubu, reiterated the commitments of her organisation to supporting ACReSAL in the state to achieve its set objectives.
She called for more engagements and offer words of advice for the success of the project in the state as contained in a statement by the Communications Unit, Bauchi ACReSAL.
