A Sharia Court in Minna, on Thursday, ordered the remand of one Mohammed Shehu in prison custody for alleged impersonation.
Shehu is facing trial on one count charge of impersonation, contrary to Section 364 of the Penal Code.
The prosecutor, Insp Cletus Ibrahim, told the court that one Temitope Idowu, a staff of the Niger State Environmental Protection Agency (NISEPA), arrested and brought the defendant to the Kpakungu Station on April 2.

Ibrahim said that Shehu was caught parading himself as a staff of NISEPA and defrauding unsuspecting persons.
When the charge was read to him, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.
The prosecutor, thereafter, prayed the court to try him summarily in line with Section 157 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
In his ruling, the judge, Ahmed Bima, convicted the accused person but reserved sentencing until April 24.
