A cleric, Dr Jubril Lasisi, has challenged Muslim youths in Nigeria to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills to deal with global challenges.
Lasisi threw the challenge in Sagamu at a two-day biennial conference of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Ogun State chapter.
He urged organisations of young Muslims to rise up and create templates for the development of Nigeria in particular.

Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Muslim Youth Organisations: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” Lasisi urged the youth to be visionary by embracing documentation and innovative thinking.
Also at the conference, members of NACOMYO in the state selected a new set of officers led by Dr Solih Amolegbe (Coordinator) and Daud Akinbo (Secretary) to direct the affairs of the organisation for the next two years.
Other members of the new executive committee include Alhaji Bariu Kehinde (Deputy State Coordinator), Lawal Abdul Mojeed (Assistant Secretary), Yusuf Ibrahim (Financial Secretary), Monsurat Adeniregun (Treasurer), Ustaz Ibrahim Abd Kabir (Murshid) and Alhaji Mudashir Owoyele (Deputy Murshid).
Earlier in his acceptance speech, the new state coordinator, Amolegbe, implored all members to support the new regime in keeping the flag of NACOMYO flying.
Amolegbe charged all the newly-elected officers to see their respective offices as a means of attracting Allah’s pleasure and reward in this world and hereafter.
The conference was attended by eminent religious and community leaders, including Alhaji Abdul Quadri Junaid, the Grand Chief Imam of Remoland; Alhaji Abdul Waheed Shittu, Chief Imam LAFARGE Africa Plc (WAPCO); Alhaji Olatunde Adesanya, the Baba Adinni of Araromi Central Mosque, Oke-Ibu, Sagamu and Alhaja Asimowu Ashimolowo, the Otun Iya Sunnah, Sagamu Central Mosque and delegates from across the six administrative divisions of NACOMYO in the state.
