Chief Imam for Yoruba community in Sokoto dies

SokotoTHE chief Imam of Yoruba community in Sokoto, Alhaji Imran Ibrahim Lawal, who is also the spiritual leader of Yoruba Muslim community-based in Sokoto State is dead.
The late Imam, according to a statement released by the council of alfa’s in Sokoto, died in his home town in Iwo, Osun State on Friday night after a protracted illnes was buried on Saturday evening in accordance with Islamic rights.
Imam Ibrahim, according to the released was blessed with many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren until his death.
The late Imam was also the chief Imam of Anwar’l Islam society of Nigeria, Sokoto Branch and was more than seventy years of age.
The statement further disclosed that his 3 days prayer will be held at Anwar’l Islam society Central mosque on Monday morning.
A close associate of the late Islamic Schooler and the chief Imam of Nawarudeen central mosque in Sokoto, Alhaji G.G Yusuf described his death as shocking and painful. He advised the the Muslim community in the state to take his death as an act of Allah.
