Charis organises Easter outreach, urges prayer for Nigeria

The leadership of Charis Family International Church has called on followers of Jesus Christ to show love to their neighbours and pray for Nigeria during this year’s celebration of the resurrection of Christ, popularly known as Easter.

The presiding minister of the church, Pastor Tunde Jaiyebo, in his Easter message, said Nigeria needs everyone’s prayer at this period the country is going through economic recession.

He disclosed the church is organising an outreach on Easter Sunday, where every segment of the programme will be to share the essence of Easter celebration with the congregants.

He said the three-hour Easter outreach is scheduled to hold on Sunday, April 16, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Charis church headquarters situated along Cultural Centre road, Mokola, Ibadan.

Jesus Christ, as Pastor Jaiyebo said, died for both the believers, that is, those who have already given their lives to Him and the unbelievers, who are yet to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Hence, he said the gathering will also avail all in attendance the opportunity to be fed with life-changing and inspiring word of God, so they can know how to live a godly and renewed live in Christ, discover purpose and know how to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Pastor Jaiyebo speaking further about the outreach said it is a gathering free for all to attend irrespective of individuals religious beliefs or lineage.

He admonished Nigerians to keep their faith in God and not be rattled by the current economic situation in the country.

The economic recession the country is currently going through, Pastor Jaiyebo said will not last for too long, what he said matters is for individuals to know that God rules in the affairs of men, and in His own time, God will restore good economy back to Nigeria.

Quoting from the book of Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV), “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end,” Pastor Jaiyebo said “the plan of God for His people is always good with a promising future irrespective of what the country is going through at the moment.”

He thereby called on all Christians not to spend time complaining about the situation but spend such time as they have the opportunity to pray to God for normalcy to be brought back to the nation where things are not working well.
