Ahead of the February 3 bye-election in Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State concluded training for its ad-hoc staff for the election on Sunday.
According to Mrs Adenike Oriowo, the Commission’s Public Affairs Officer in Lagos State, the three-day training session began on Friday, January 26th and concluded on Sunday, the 28th.
She mentioned that non-sensitive materials have been distributed to the relevant local government areas.
Oriowo stated, “All preparations are in top gear for the Saturday bye-election in Surulere 1 Federal Constituency. Non-sensitive materials are at the Local Government, while the training of ad-hoc staff, which commenced on Friday, has concluded today, Sunday.
Furthermore, collecting and distributing sensitive materials for the election will commence on the eve of the bye-election. Another training session for ad-hoc staff is scheduled on the eve of the election, followed by the onward distribution of sensitive materials on the day of the election.”
