THE Presidency has affirmed that acting President Yemi Osinbajo fired the former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura with the knowledge of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The appointment of the DSS DG was terminated on Tuesday following the siege laid by personnel of the DSS on the National Assembly.
Special Adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this to State House correspondents after the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by Osinbajo.
He said: “The Presidency is one. Whenever the President Buhari is proceeding on vacation, he transmits power to the Vice President who becomes the Acting President.
“The Acting President has the power. The Acting President is a decent man, he does not tussle for power, there is unanimity on that decision to sack the DSS DG.”
