Colonel Abubakar Umar (retd) is a former military governor of Kaduna State. He earned the respect of many Nigerians, including myself, in the areas of good governance, and he is well respected among past military leaders. He is fearless, truthful and courageous.
Buhari needs to work with those who will not fear to tell him the truth. Colonel Umar is a man who has the same political ideology with President Buhari. I would like to remind the president of what General Yakubu Gowon did when he made our sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Finance Minister: he put Nigeria on the path of accelerated development. All eyes are on the president. The Nigerians who voted for Buhari because of the desire for change are very anxious to witness good things. People like Colonel Umar are needed in the Federal Executive Council. Some are in Aso Rock just to make money, not to help Buhari succeed.
