The convener of the #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore was almost strangled to death in a fracas after the court session at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday.
According to an eye witness, a pistol was cocked just as Sowore exit the door of the courtroom.
Bystanders had to push him back inside the courtroom just as another person held on to his throat in an attempt to rearrest him.
Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu left the courtroom as the court proceeding was disrupted.
Sowore who is also the publisher of Sahara Reporters said the assignation attempt was not only on his life but also attempt to truncate democracy.
